PINOT GRIGIO DOC DELLE VENEZIE: the territory
To date, 85% of Italian production, first in the world by volume, is produced in Triveneto area (in Veneto, Friuli and Trentino regions). Precisely for this reason, the new DOC delle Venezie was born in September 2017, a desire of the North-Eastern supply chains to ensure the protection of the denomination of origins of the “Pinot Grigio” for a greater guarantee of quality to the various estimators of Made in Italy excellence.

CARBONCINE VINEYARD
At the Santomè winery in Roncade, a full 4 hectares of the Carboncine vineyards – so rich in clay and compacted silt and sand – have been set aside for the production of Pinot Grigio. Santomè’s Pinot Grigio is cultivated across 4 hectares in Roncade, within the Carboncine vineyards, where the soils are rich in clay and compacted silt and sand – a factor that helps to imbue this wine with a touch more depth and character.
