Prosecco Raboso Reserves Sparkling Still wines Single varietal
From 1st August 2009 the world of Prosecco has changed. The word Prosecco no longer indicates a vineyard but a specific wine of controlled origin and subject to rigid rules.

The new Prosecco Doc identifies the production of a vast area embracing nine provinces (Treviso, Belluno, Gorizia, Padova, Pordenone, Trieste, Udine, Vicenza, and Venezia) all part of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions.

The 63 hectares of Santome vineyards are all in the province of Treviso – home of Prosecco – and 27 of them are dedicated exclusively to the production of 4 different types of Prosecco:

Prosecco Superiore DOCG Conegliano Valdobbiadene

Prosecco DOC Treviso

Cru "Bosco Coste", from the three hillside hectares in the Collalto di Susegana area which are ideal for producing high quality spumante.

It is our Prosecco Cru par excellence thanks to the sunny position of these three hillside hectares appropriately called "Bosco Coste", a few kilometers from Conegliano which is home of G.B. Cerletti, Italy's first school of oenology.

Prosecco Doc Treviso Brut is produced from the remaining 24 hectares in "Grave di Papadopoli", an island formed by the river Piave, where an ideal soil enhances the main attributes of Prosecco:
scent, freshness and balanced taste.

Raboso Doc Piave

Raboso Piave is a native vine variety and its presence in the lands of the river Piave has been supported by documentary evidence since the 1600s. It bears the well-deserved name "Piave", for both its historical origins and its continuous presence over the centuries in the land where this sacred river flows.
It is cultivated throughout the entire Trevisan plain, "on both sides of the river Piave".
Raboso Piave is a rustic vine variety, which ripens late, and is excellent for producing wines for ageing.
Its bunches are quite large and cylindrical in shape, with one or two prominent "wings". It is compact, with a strong woody stalk. Its grape is spherical, with a black-bluish very pruinose and tough skin. Its pulp is characteristic, with a neutral taste, slightly succulent, and sweet-acidulous-astringent.

Raboso del Piave

Raboso, indigenous to the area, picked from vines grown in the best part of our vineyards  (Parcel # 912) at Carboncine, Roncade.

raboso passito

Rabbioso - Passito di Raboso

"Rabbioso" is a "passito" wine made from 100% Raboso Piave grapes during various harvest times (2004-2005-2006). Generally, the harvest period varies from mid-October to mid-November, depending on the weather conditions. The grapes are selected, hand-picked and placed in 4-5 kilos boxes and finally stored in a room suitable for the withering.
The Raboso Passito is pressed during the first months of the year following the harvest. The yield of the total harvest is between 20 and 30%.
The semi-dried grapes are stripped and steeped for 15-20 day, after which the Passito is refined in barrels until it is ready to be bottled.

selezione santhomas

After "Moro '41" and "Anna 6" here comes "Santhomas", a rosé sparkling wine made with Pinot Noir grapes, dedicated to Tommaso - charming first born son of Alan and Silvia - beloved grandson and nephew.
So the company's newborn wine had to be a young rosé.
Rosé, the many roses planted at the head of the rows of vines.
Rosé, rosy as the cheek of the new day; rosy as the hopes of the estate, which has already taken its first steps and is launched ever more into the future with this new "gem".

selezione sanrichard

A sparkling red wine with the bold, native spirit of Raboso Piave.
The inspirational saga of Santomè continues.
First came Tommaso (Santhomas) now comes brother Riccardo (Sanrichard); red, sparkling and vivacious, brandishing forth the ardent heart of Raboso.
A new and quintessential “tile” in the Santome wine mosaic is added: enhancing the family's stature, displaying the estate's fullness of choices
From its first tentative steps, Santomè has since courageously leapt forward; the utterances of its infancy now matured into a lion's full-fledged roar
A roar however, that leaves a seductively delightful taste in the mouth...

selezione anna6

Anna 6

"Anna 6" is a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon. Its name is a tribute to Anna, Alan and William's mother. The "6" might perhaps imply the date that no women ever wants to reveal.
It certainly means "you are here", as maternal love is always present, even when it remains hidden. Alongside "Moro '41", dedicated to their father, this "Anna 6", which also adds filial affection to all the other flavours, could not be missing.

selezione moro 41

Moro '41

"Moro '41" is a blend of Merlot and Raboso Piave wine. You can taste its freshness and pleasant acidity, and appreciate its fruity bouquet, which come from Raboso, a native vine variety of the Treviso area, vinified as an innovative and young wine.
Its name is intended as a tribute to Mr. Armando Spinazzè, known to everyone as "Moro" for his complexion and friendliness, always full of witticism, making everyone readily fond of him.
1941 is his year of birth: he belongs to a group of company owners who have revitalized the North-East area, restoring vigour to the land that belonged to the famous Venetian Republic (Serenissima), where Palladio designed and "embedded" his villas.
His two sons, Alan and William, wished to dedicate this label to him to thank him for his continuous support and complete trust in setting up the splendid Santomè estate.
